Dear Friends

Dear friends,

I have decided to surrender in face of the insipidity and asininity of Blogspot and thus renounce further usage of its lackluster features. Farewell, Blogspot!

I have quite aptly found another new love at Wordpress, with their promises of faster and guaranteed deliverance and cooler features.

So join me there and we shall see, won't we?

Dutifully yours,
PurpleCat

WTF Blogspot

I just logged in to create a new post and i saw all my previous posts in these crappy mess.

"
"
I have no idea why everything is in this crappy font but I really can't be bothered to edit everything. Especially since I'm not even supposed to be here now and am instead supposed to be studying for my exams next week! Argh. You Frustrating piece of CRAP, Blogspot!

I am going to change my blog to wordpress instead. Hold on.

All right. I've just set up a new account www.purplecatmeows.wordpress.com. But no posts yet. I feel guilty now. Had been wasting too much time checking out John Lennon and Bob Dylan's biopics. Wait for me, people!

My exams are going to be done soon and I'll post regularly then.

Off to doomsland now.

Jane, This Is Dedicated To You

I came across this hilarious blog solely dedicated to sandwiches.

Sandwich Blog

And I know how much of a sandwich lover my dear friend, Jane is.

So, this post shall be dedicated to Jane, the girl who loves sandwiches.

Maybe you can do something like this too, no?

Ps Thanks for the bling bling necklace. Totally diggin' it.

Singaporean Women Roar and You Better Listen

Wow. This is really great news to share.

Singapore women are finally taking a strong stand for their own gender.

Surely you must have heard of the Aware saga on everyone's lips now? Of how some super pro-Christians (no offense to all Christians out there) tried to force their ideals and religious stands on the Singapore society?

Their anti-gay and conservative stands are especially unpopular with the majority of Singapore women here. I am certain I am not the only one to proclaim that I am more upset that the baseline of what Aware stands for- gender equality for all seemed to have been lost within the ex-new exco. Surely, Aware's equality stand does not apply only to traditional Christian families in Singapore or to whatever ideal family structure they have in mind? And the seemingly underhanded method used to hijack the old guards' posts does not help much in building up the low confidence that people had in them.

The EOGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) that took place yesterday was really impressive. 3000 people showed up at the Suntec Convention Center to put it this way, to decide the fate of the new exco- if they get to stay on or not. 1414 voted a vote of no confidence against them, with only 700 odd votes in favor of them. Tada! Josie Lau and her COOS team were forced to resign! Let's not forget to throw in a mention of the showdown between members of the public and Josie Lau and her team. Thanks to the live reporting from wayang party and straits time, many who could not make it to the EOGM could follow with the latest events. It was bloody exciting.(to say this is actually quite an understatement.) I didn't know Singaporean women were ever so hot and passionate about anything since the days of the McDonald's Hello Kitty stuffed toys.

Well, much had already been discussed on this issue. So, I'll not elaborate much more on the reasons why Singapore women would never be able to accept them as our leaders in any woman's organizations.

Let's just say that this was a memorable day for Singapore. Women here have finally decided to be passive no longer. They have come a roaring for their rights, with hair curlers, tudongs and all, and you better give them what they want.
